Travel Basketball Team
Tryouts & Information
Once again MYAL will be playing in the Connecticut Basketball League and is sponsoring travel basketball teams for boys & girls in 4/5th* through 8th grade. If you are a player that loves basketball, wants to further your development and play at a more competitive level, the MYAL Travel Basketball league may be for you!
The teams generally practice once during the week with games on Sundays from mid-November to early March. Players selected for a travel team are required to play on a MYAL rec. team, unless playing on a middle school team.
Our goal is to have teams at each grade 5th through 8th for both boys and girls if there is enough interest and talent. If there are not enough players in a certain grade, the league may consider forming a combined grade team.
Players must attend mandatory tryouts, dates & times listed below, in order to be considered for a team. If you are unable to attend the tryouts, you must contact Alan at [email protected] to make alternate arrangements.

Boys Tuesday September 24th
Grades 4*, 5 & 6 ~6:30-7:30pm
Grades 7 & 8 ~ 8:00-9:00pm
Girls Wednesday September 25th
Grade 4*, 5 & 6 ~ 6:30-7:30pm
Grade 7 & 8 ~ 8:00-9:00pm
The registration fee is $140 for the season plus $55 fee for new players and players needing a new uniform. We will be using the same personalized reversible uniforms as last season. Please remember that players selected for the travel team are required to play on a MYAL rec. team (an additional fee & registration), unless they are playing on a middle school team.
*4th graders wanting to be considered for the 5th grade team must attend the 5/6 tryouts. 4th graders will only be considered for a team if there are not an adequate number of 5th graders.
